Unlocking UNLOCKED

Kuroki Meisa has an album coming out on Feburary 15th: UNLOCKED. I haven’t really been a fan of her music – I believe that she lacks voice talent and very often covers up those smaller inaccuracies with autotune – but I think that there are some good tracks and melodies to be found on her upcoming album. My picks are the bolded, but here is her track list (with comments from yours truly in italics):

1. Hit the Road! (this appears to be a little more of all-too-ordinary pop)
2. Shake it Off! (reminds me of “FIVE”)
3. Wired Life (I actually really like this track for its composition)
4. One More Drama (too much autotune for me)
5. Take me Away (a little bit R&B)
6. Flashlight (this track actually melds well with the previous)
7. Woman’s Worth (too much autotune)
8. Breeze Out (upbeat, a little angsty)
9. LAST CODE (this pretty much is her trademark sound)
10. Happy to be ME (the melody is fairly beautiful)
11. Parade (a little bit more of the traditional pop)
12. S.O.S (a little like AKB48…)
13. UPGRADE U! (this is a peppy and catchy song)
14. Aimaide Zeitakuna Yokubou (this is completely her own voice – finally! – and is more ballad-like)

As a part of ingenius marketing, you can preview snippets of the album tracks here.

Sometimes, though, I do appreciate a little bit of the “trance” feel, and I found “Wired Life” particularly catchy. I’ve uploaded the file here, so if you please, take a listen.
