A Darker Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner — ladies, have you thought about what you’re going to wear? If you are still undecided, and are partial to the edgier look, I recommend going with the palette chosen by Gareth Pugh for MAC Cosmetics. The jet blacks and dark plums are fantastic against fairer skin, and these colors can provide a bold, sophisticated, and film-noir-type-romantic look.
The “flight lash”, those long and other-worldly eyelashes as pictured above, has already sold out. But there are other great products still available, and I personally recommend MAC Lipsticks. The lipsticks are creamy, non-sticky, and non-dehydrating. They are also scented with vanilla, which I greatly appreciate in light of the fact that some other lip products have this oil-based chemical scent. Pugh’s line puts out Restrict (a nude lip)and Fervent (a bluer purple that the website describes as “blackened berry”).
Sure, the traditional red roses and pink candy hearts are lovely – as are bright red lips and pink blush – but those seem much more appropriate for a lady in love. As for single gals, we need something a little more bold because, believe it or not, there are single guys out there who don’t know what to do on a lonely Valentine’s Night. So, get ready to show that individuality and paint your face with some rebel in your heart!
